Montessori Parent/Child Program

The Montessori Parent/Child Program is a unique learning experience for you and your child – the only program of its kind in Boston!

More classes coming soon! Classes will be held at USES-Harriet Tubman House, in the South End!

Montessori Parent/Child classes are an opportunity for children (two months to three years of age) and their parents or caregivers to learn together in a Montessori environment, one that is specially suited to the developmental needs of young children.  Through observation, discussion sessions and other resources, parents have the opportunity to watch their child (or children) thrive while they themselves grow in their role as nurturing caregivers.

Parents/Caregivers attend a weekly 90-minute session with their child.  The session includes an activity period, snack time, and “circle time."  In order to familiarize parents with the structure of the program, we offer an orientation meeting prior to each session.

The program is designed to provide today’s parents with access to the essence of the Montessori philosophy. At the core of the program is the belief that parents can contribute immeasurably to their young child’s development by being informed observers. We create an appropriate, nurturing and safe environment which allows children unlimited exploration. At the same time, we help parents to become active and knowledgeable observers of their children.  We address concerns such as nutrition, sleep issues, communication, toileting and more.  Each family will also receive a journal  to chronicle their child’s progress in these and other areas.
This program will allow parents and caregivers to embrace the benefits of a proven scientific method – the Montessori Method – and make it part of everyday life with their child.

We offer two Montessori Parent-Child classes. Classes meet for 8 weeks.
